Customize Your Shutters with Craftsman Shutter Frames in Honolulu
A misconception we hear occasionally from Honolulu homeowners is that “all shutters look the same.” Let’s get rid of any confusion – those claims couldn’t be further from reality.
Many people aren’t aware of the number of options there are when it comes to shopping for plantation shutters in Honolulu, and the impact those options might have. One of the most important of those options is the style of shutter frame you pick.
Honolulu Custom Shutter Frames
Your options for shutter frames will depend on four things primarily:
-
The style of your window.
-
The depth of the window sill.
-
Whether you need to have an inside or outside mount.
-
Your own personal taste.
A few of our shutter frames are offered only in certain materials, such as our Polywood® faux wood shutters, a few are only able to work on an inside or outside mount of a window, and some will have a look that may blend in perfectly with your existing trim, like our Craftsman frame shutters, built for Craftsman style homes and only offered by Sunburst.
Let’s take a look at some of the most common shutter frames we recommend to Honolulu homeowners.
Craftsman Frame Shutters - You can’t watch House Hunters for more than 5 minutes without seeing Craftsman design. This Sunburst-exclusive frame was built specifically for Craftsman style houses and homes with similar aesthetics. A Craftsman frame gives you a clean and simple look, so no part of your home looks gaudy compared to the rest. If echoing some historic home style is what you want, this is the frame for you. Currently available in Polywood and reclaimed wood shutters only.
L-Frame Shutters - An L-frame is possibly the least complex and most practical frame we offer. They have a tight, modern look, and tend to be the easiest to work around if you have a unique window shape. The L-frame can be used as both an outside and inside mount, if you’d like to keep your existing window trim in place, and is available in all of our different shutter types.
Z-Frame Shutters - Z-frames are a popular choice because they offer a stylish, elegant look to your window, similar to bass or crown molding. The name “Z-frame” comes from the shape of its exterior, which is installed on an inside mount of a window jamb, but hugs the jamb and extends to the outside creating a “Z” figure. That wrapping shape makes it so you don’t even need window trim around the window. Z-frames are available in all of our shutter materials.
Decorative Frame Shutters - A decorative frame definitely lives up to its name. With stylish texture and an attention-grabbing shape, this frame works best for windows without any trim, or if you want to cover your existing trim. Decorative frames are available in Polywood faux wood and Ovation hardwood shutters.
